Her Story
Once upon a time there was a woman... she had just brought home her third cat and told her mother, "Mom. I'm at three cats, which is the official spinster-level of cats. I'm never getting married."
She had some good friends (K.A. and D.C.) who invited her to dress up as a fairy and pull a wagon in a New Year's Eve parade. She didn't require much convincing; after all, fairy wings were involved.
After the parade, she went to this "juggling house" for a New Year's Eve party. Determined to head out before all of the crazy midnight kissing started, she made motions to go.
"Don't leave before the chocolate feast," she heard a voice behind her say. This peaked her interest. For if there was one thing she liked more than fairy wings, it was chocolate. "Tell me more about this chocolate feast," she said, turning around. She came face-to-face with the inventor of this splendid event. A mind so genius, he not only thought up this tribute to the divine food, but also enticed others to bring the treats.
"You're my new best friend," declared the woman. And she stayed for the feast.
Upon the retreat of afore-mentioned genius, the room burst into proclamations. "Carrie and Jeremy!" "They would be great together!" "You two should date!" "Don't you think he's cute?"
Although she did find him quite attractive (how could she not?), this freaked her right out. She thoroughly enjoyed the feast (how could she not), but did manage to slip out of the house before the midnight hour.
Months passed (about 2) and the woman found herself at a juggling convention (who knew they had such things?) She was presented with another opportunity to interact with the man. Chocolate was again exchanged. R.F. asked questions about setting up a meeting.
A meeting was set up. They began to talk in earnest. After a tiara and a bit more chocolate was exchanged, it became clear that the two should date.
The two stepped into a natural rhythm with each other. His kind heart and gentle spirit warmed her soul. She was so at home with him. He was not perfect (and a good thing, because she was far from that herself), but he was her perfect match.
A couple of weeks into the relationship, plans to visit Ireland were cemented. The woman had wanted to visit the country her entire life, and there was a juggling convention there too!
After the convention, the two traveled the gorgeous Irish countryside. They took a ferry to a teeny island named Inis Maan. On a morning stroll down a winding path past a fairy fort, the sun broke through the clouds and created a rainbow. There on the edge of the world surrounded by rock walls, he told her how much he loved her. As soon as he started to get down on one knee, tears of joy flooded down her cheeks. When he asked for her hand, she said yes. ( How could she not?)
